Dunbeg primary vandalised, among other crimes for OLI police
Traffic crimes were keeping police in Oban Lorn and the Isles busy again this week, as well as multiple cases of abusive behaviour in local hotels and vandalism at a local school.
Speeding
A 27 year old male driver was cautioned and charged with speeding on the A85 near to Dalmally on the afternoon of Wednesday July 22. The circumstances will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

A 68 year old male driver was issued an endorsable conditional offer for speeding on the A85 near to Dalmally on the afternoon of Wednesday July 22.
Threatening and abusive behaviour
During the early hours of Thursday July 23, a 68 year old male was arrested within a Hotel premises in Oban for Threatening and Abusive Behaviour. The circumstances will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal.
Vandalism
Between 9pm on Tuesday July 21 and 8qm on Wednesday July 22 a shed in the playground of Dunbeg Primary School has been vandalised and toys removed from the storage container and scattered around the playground.

Driving while unfit and without insurance
On the evening of Thursday July 23 a 40 year old female driver was arrested following a single vehicle collision on the A85 near to Dalmally after failing the roadside breath test.
The female was cautioned and charged with driving whilst unfit, taking and driving away a motor vehicle and driving without valid insurance. The female was released on Undertaking to appear at Oban Sheriff Court at a later date.
Scam
On the afternoon of Thursday July 23 an Argyll resident was called by a fraudster purporting to be from their mobile phone provider.
The resident was duped into providing his bank details. A short time later unauthorised transactions were attempted using the victim’s card details. Police are investigating.
Police advise anyone who receives a fraudulent call requesting bank details, to hang up and call 159, which will allow them to connect with their bank directly.
Threatening and abusive behaviour and assaulting an officer
On the evening of Friday July 24 a 45 year old male was arrested for Threatening and Abusive Behaviour towards a retail worker at a Hotel Premises in Oban.
The male continued to act in a Threatening and Abusive manner when Police attended, has resisted arrest and assaulted an officer. The male has been cautioned and charged, and the circumstances will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal.
Driving without a license
On the afternoon of Thursday July 23 a vehicle a 30 year old male driver was cautioned and charged with driving without supervision with a provisional license and driving without valid insurance on the A849 on Mull. The vehicle was seized by Police, and the circumstances will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal.
