Beer, music, and food enthusiasts descended upon Glen Fyne this past weekend for a Loch Fyne festival that captured Argyll at its “very best.”
Held at the Fyne Ales Brewery in Cairndow, FyneFest took place from May 28 and ran throughout the weekend, welcoming families, friends, and dogs to the Mid Argyll beauty spot.
Despite some rainy conditions, attendees enjoyed a wide variety of beers, ales, and ciders, alongside a full programme of music and family-friendly activities.
Festival organiser Jamie Delap said that welcoming everyone to the festival helped create such a friendly and inviting atmosphere.
He added: “The whole idea is to try to show off Argyll at its very best, and I think that comes from everyone coming together and enjoying things together.
“We like the pint of beer to be in the middle of the table, surrounded by friends, good food and nice music, where everyone can have a great time.”
A Scottish ska band performed on the opening night of music on Friday, with rock band RPJ headlining the evening.
One attending family said it had always been the music that attracted them to the festival.
They said: “We arrived on Thursday and are staying the whole way through. We went to see RPJ last night and that was sensational. We don’t even drink — we are just here for the music.
“This is our tenth year here and we have just seen it grow and grow. It is great.”
A David Bowie tribute group warmed up the crowd on Saturday evening, with American musician Huey Morgan headlining the final evening.
BBC Radio Scotland’s Vic Galloway closed out the festival with a DJ set that continued until the early hours of Sunday morning.
The festival offered a number of activities, including a walkers’ bar, family games, educational talks, quizzes, and pottery.
Another group of attendees said the festival marked the beginning of their social calendar.
They added: “It has always been a good time. It doesn’t matter what the weather does — we have been here in glorious sunshine and rain — but we just love the atmosphere and the company.”
Organisers plan to run FyneFest for the sixteenth time next year, with Jamie adding that the company is beginning to focus on further sustainability measures for the 2027 event.
