Coach Redpath rues missed chances following "disappointing" League opener

Fort William first team coach Kyle Redpath expressed disappointment in the result and second half performance as his team slumped to a 2-0 defeat to new North Caledonian League side Dingwall FC.
Goals for Dingwall came from Cameron Grant and Sam McAllister and, despite an excellent preseason and a strong line up, Fort were unable to get themselves back into the game.
"I thought we controlled possession in the majority of the game but that doesn’t win you football matches," continued Redpath.
"We created a good number of chances in the first half but we just weren’t clinical enough and when you don’t take those chances it often comes back to haunt you, and that’s exactly what happened today.
"Second half we really lacked quality on the ball, our decision making simply wasn’t good enough and despite, again, seeing lots of the ball, we didn’t do nearly enough with it.
"Fair play to Dingwall, they took their chances when they came along and we didn’t but I expect far more with the quality we’ve now got in the squad.
"On a more positive note it was nice to see so many new and returning faces at Claggan Park in the crowd and I hope they’ll continue to support the team in those numbers throughout the season."
Redpath and his men are hopeful of a more positive result this weekend when they face Clachnacuddin Reserves at Claggan Park.
