There were no Mid Argyll rugby teams in action last weekend but there were a number of Mid Argyll players involved in Oban Lorne teams on Sunday.
Drew Buckley and Tilly Cunningham both played for Oban Ladies as they ran out comfortable winners over Wigtownshire Ladies, 26-12, in a re-arranged league game.
The Oban Ladies are in fine form just now and look to carry that forward into their upcoming National Sheild games in March.
Also playing for Oban on Sunday in the U18 boys’ team, was Vinnie Buckley, pictured.
The boys were playing a re-arranged game against Renfrew Raiders in the West Plate Competition and produced their best game of the season so far, amassing 76 points on the day including 12 tries. Three of those came from Vinnie from the outside centre position. Final Score 76-14.
Everyone at Mid Argyll RFC would like to congratulate Jack Johnston from Oban U18 boys, who has been selected to represent Scotland U18s in this weekend’s international game against Wales in Cardiff.
Mid Argyll senior men travel to Hyndland on Saturday hoping for their first away win of the season. The U14 girls have an evolution series event in Campbeltown on Saturday, then the U16 girls travel to Greenock Wanderers on Sunday. While the U14 boys finish the weekend on Sunday in a development game against Mull at the Ropework.
