We never tire of shouting about the dedication and selflessness of our many community champions – but often those who go about their work quietly or in less public roles do not get the recognition they, too, deserve.
Sheena Ramsay is a very worthy recipient of the Rotary Club of Campbeltown’s Citizen of the Year award.
Well known in the community, it would be impossible to list every reason Sheena deserves this prize but there are many and they are varied.
Despite having her own commitments at home, Sheena’s dedication to helping and supporting those in her community who need it has never wavered.
We hope she is putting her feet up to celebrate this achievement.
Similarly worthy of her award is Young Musician of the Year Iona Renton, who featured in the Courier as recently as last week for her contribution to the Campbeltown’s Got Talent charity event.
Iona is also a captain at Campbeltown Grammar School, and we’re sure she will be very much missed by all in the school and community when she goes to university later this year.
We wish her all the very best for her future.
