Arran Ebike Group is inviting ebike riders from Arran and further afield to join them on a group ebike ride with four terrain and route options from Lamlash to Kilmory.
The Four Routes to Kilmory event will take place on Sunday May 19, meeting at 10.30 am at Arran High School for the first three routes and at 11.15am for those wishing to depart from Blackwaterfoot which is the fourth option.
The intention is to gather as many ebike riders together as possible and to encourage newer riders to explore new places and terrains, while receiving support from experienced riders.
All routes will lead to Kilmory Hall where participants can enjoy refreshments, including coffee and cake, and take a well-deserved rest.
The four route options cater for all ebikes, riders and abilities, with the first leaving from Arran High School at 10.45am and riding on the road via Whiting Bay to Kilmory Hall. Groups will depart at intervals to allow other road users to safely pass. This route will cover 13.1 miles and will take approximately one hour and 30 minutes.
Route two leaves Arran High School and heads towards the road to the Dyemill, then it’s a guided route on gravel tracks through the forest to join the road at Butter Hill then down to Kilmory Hall. This group departs at 11am and will cover 11.1 miles which should take approximately one hour and 15 minutes.
Route three leaves Arran High School and continues over the Ross before turning left at the road end, then to Lagg and up the hill to Kilmory Hall. This group departs at 11am and will cover around 10 miles in about one hour and 15 minutes.
The final route will meet at Blackwaterfoot harbour car park at 11.15am and depart at 11.25am. Cyclists will take the coast road towards Kilpatrick and continue to Lagg and up the hill to Kilmory Hall. The 7.2 mile route should take around 50 minutes to complete.
Arran Ebike Group members who live on the mainland and who wish to take part can find accommodation at Kilmory Hall Bunkhouse. This can be booked online at kilmoryhaven.com/
