Young musicians and music groups on Arran have less than a month left to apply for Eilidh MacLeod Memorial Trust funding.
Applicants have until midnight on April 30 to apply for grants of up to £1,500 to help provide access to music-making opportunities for young people across Scotland.
Eilidh’s Trust was established in memory of Eilidh McLeod, a 14-year-old from the Isle of Barra, who lost her life in the 2017 Manchester Arena terrorist attack.
Eilidh was a talented bagpiper and had a passion for music. The trust aims to enable young people and children to continue her musical journey by providing support to advance their music education.
Individuals and groups across every genre of music and from anywhere in Scotland are encouraged to apply, however, the trust does not consider applications for individual equipment purchases.
Since 2019, Eilidh’s Trust has provided more than 60 organisations with grant payments amounting to more than £58,000.
Grants have been awarded to a variety of organisations, from the Orkney Traditional Music Project, a charity that aims to revive the teaching of the fiddle and accordion in the islands, to Drake Music, a leading arts organisation that supports people with disabilities to play, learn and compose music independently.
Applications for funding and further information about Eilidh’s Trust can be found at eilidhstrust.org.uk/
