The milestone marked a successful re-introduction of women’s rugby at Lochaber following a 10-week training programme led by coach Naomi Duncan, supported by other club coaches.
The coaching volunteers bring a wealth of experience from youth to senior rugby and this has provided the newly-formed group of players an ideal platform for development, learning and experience of a coached and refereed tournament.

Players took part in a group warm up, progressing to touch rugby games and onto competitive full-contact 20-minute blocks that were overseen by a qualified referee with inter-club teams playing impressive running rugby on the field.
Everyone should be proud of their contribution.
The afternoon was full of smiles and determination. The future of rugby at Banavie is looking fruitful.
