Police are appealing for the public’s help to trace a group of men involved in a disturbance at an Oban hotel.
At 1.30am on April 28, within the Muthu Alexandra Hotel in Oban, a group of males, whose identity remains unknown, began to act in a disorderly manner, damaging furniture and fixtures within the premises. Police are now investigating.

Threatening behaviour
About 11.55pm on May 2, at Shore Street, Oban, Officers on mobile patrol had cause to stop and search a man under Misuse of Drugs Act Powers. It is alleged that a 38 year old obstructed the officers during the search and was threating and abusive to them. He was arrested and later reported for the offence to the Procurator Fiscal.
Theft from centre
Police are investigating a break-in at Dalmally Community Centre.
The incident took place sometime on April 28 and a number of items were allegedly taken. Anyone with any information is asked to call 101 quoting crime reference CR/0153396/24.
Drink driving
Around 1.25am on April 29 on the A816 near to Kilmore, police on routine mobile patrol came across a vehicle in a post-crash position with the alleged driver being found nearby sometime later. He was taken to hospital to assess his injuries at which time he failed a roadside breath test. The 26 year old male was released pending further enquiries to confirm intoxication levels.
Theft by shoplifting
A gang of youths stole sweets from Oban Filling Station on Soroba Road on Friday. The incident happened around 5.20pm and saw the youngsters make off without paying before staff were informed. Police are carrying out further inquiries.
