Haulage Cup holders Southend will face Lamlash in the Arran Haulage Cup final on Friday to avoid a clash with the Glasgow Old Firm match.
The two teams faced each other last week in a play-off at Whiting Bay where Southend emerged winners.
The match was slightly delayed owing to a medical helicopter evacuation at Sandbraes but Gregor Crichton and Donald Park wasted no time in adding to their tally by each scoring a goal for the home side.
Lamlash’s Grant Adamson also added to his tally by scoring a goal which allowed the team to end with a respectable 2-1 scoreline and a degree of confidence when facing Southend in the final.
The two teams will battle it out in the Haulage Cup final which will take place on the neutral Ormidale Park on Friday.
In another break from tradition - with the game being played on Friday and not Saturday - the match will start at the earlier than usual time of 6pm to ensure enough light in the event of the final going to extra time and penalties.
Spectators are encouraged to go along and support both teams to see who will win the first piece of silverware of the season. Each team will be giving it their all to kick-start the league season with a cup win under their belt.
