Police say two people were arrested after an alleged disturbance at a popular Oban nightspot.
Possession of Controlled Substance
At 10.15pm on Tuesday at Mossfield Stadium in Oban, officers on foot patrol had cause to stop and search a man under Misuse of Drugs Act Powers. It is alleged that a 25-year-old was then found in possession of a quantity of cannabis. The accused will be reported for the offence detailed to the Procurator Fiscal.
Assault and threatening behaviour
Police were called to reports of a large scale disturbance at The View in George Street on Sunday morning.
Two people were arrested, one male, 41, for alleged assault and another man, 21, for alleged racially aggravated abusive behaviour. Both have been charged.
Police are investigating a number of other offences from the same disturbance, including allegations of two women being embroiled in a fight. Anyone with information can call police on 101 and quote crime reference

Police assualt
Just after 10am on Sunday at Columba Court, police were called to a report of a woman allegedly shouting abusively in the street and making sectarian comments. Upon attendance, officers identified the female, who then allegedly became verbally abusive and attempted to assault them.
The 51-year-old was arrested and charged before being released on an undertaking to attend court at a future date.
Verbal abuse
At 1.15am on Sunday on Tobermory Main Street, police were flagged down by a member of the public. It is alleged that the man then became verbally aggressive to officers, refusing to calm down. The 32-year-old was later offered and accepted a recorded warning for his conduct.
Vandalism
On Sunday on Main Street, Tobermory, vandals smashed a main window of the property resulting in substantial costs being incurred. Police are investigating this matter and appealing for witnesses.
Domestic Abuse
During this past week, for the Oban, Lorn and the Isles area, Police Scotland received one report of assault and threatening and abusive behaviour. This led to a woman being arrested before being released on undertaking to attend court at a later date.
