The Cairnbaan community has recently benefited from works carried out by Mackenzie Construction, the principal contractor of winter works on the Crinan Canal.
Mackenzie Construction operates a community fund which aims to give something back to the communities it works in.
Last year, Cairnbaan Community Trust applied to the fund to have the worn and damaged fencing surrounding the children’s playpark in Heatherbank replaced.
The trust also applied to have a community notice board installed by the bus stop at Lock 8 on the Crinan Canal at Cairnbaan.
Both applications were successful and by April the works were completed, with staff formally thanked for their generous work.
Jim Maitland, chairperson of Cairnbaan Community Trust, said: “Both projects were undertaken and completed to a high quality in a timely and efficient manner with exceptionally good community liaison throughout.”
Keir Adrain, from Mackenzie Construction, added: “Community engagement has always been an important aspect of project delivery for Mackenzie Construction.
"We are delighted to have been able to complete these works for the Cairnbaan Community and hope that many local residents will benefit from the improvements.”
Scottish Canals is in the third year of planned winter works replacing life-expired lock gates on the Crinan Canal.
This year, work focused on the Crinan sea lock with, ending with the canal’s reopening on April 29.
