Arran author Diana Dunn and local illustrator Jill Hargan will release their children’s book, Hullabaloo on Arran, this weekend.
The vividly illustrated book tells the story of two friends, a cat called Hullabaloo and a dog called MacGregor, who embark on wild adventures on the island and on the ferry.
The text is rhyming and the bright eye-catching illustrations include some well-known islanders being tricked by two resourceful and lovable animals who are determined to get their way.
With a captivating storyline and images and scenery which will be familiar to many children and adults on Arran, the book will undoubtedly appeal to children of all ages, particularly those who love mischievous animals.
Diana has written a number of children’s books previously and works as a pupil support teacher at a local primary school. Jill is a well-known artist and is also the illustrator of the popular Sam the Skull book.
Diana and Jill will be at the book launch tomorrow (Saturday) at Arran Active in Brodick at 11am. Diana will be reading from the new book and Jill will demonstrate how to draw cats.
