Many people will have seen that Mackenzie Construction have been performing repair and restoration work on the Crinan Canal over the last two years, writes Graham Walker.
What people may not be aware of is the programme of community works that Mackenzie have been doing to support local villages whilst the works on the canal are ongoing.
When Mackenzie opened their programme for community works, Achnamara Village Hall applied to have the car park resurfaced and an access ramp installed. The old car park had become rutted and uneven, and was a bit of a muddy quagmire. The community were delighted when this proposal was accepted.
The work was completed in March.
The Achnamara Village Hall committee would like to thank Mackenzie Construction for their kind support with this project.
Achnamara Village Hall has been undergoing a gradual programme of renovation and upgrades in recent years including full insulation, a new floor installed and complete redecoration. The hall is regularly used by people from across Knapdale and beyond and is a hub for community activity.
