Before the competition itself, the society held a club night recital on Friday March 23, which was a fantastic night of performances from both local pipers and pipers from afar who had made the trip for the competition being held the next day.
Piping society spokesperson James Rosie said: "Thanks to everyone who came and participated with a few tunes and to the spectators who also helped to make it a great night.
"We look forward to more club nights and recitals in the near future."

The following day 60 entrants took part in 136 separate performances, of which 116 were in piping/chanter and 20 in drumming - all sorted out by five adjudicators.
"We were greatly heartened by the efforts made by contestants to participate, almost all of whom travelled from outside Lochaber and some coming from great distances," added James.
"Many players came from the greater Highlands, of course, and we had strong support from players travelling from the islands."
The furthest-travelled was Silas Jones from Abergele in North Wales, who travelled up with family especially for the competition.
Although there were only two local entrants, Allan MacColl and Daniel MacIsaac, both displayed fine playing and both were rewarded with excellent placings.
"It is very disappointing to not see more uptake from young Lochaber pipers, with large numbers of young players coming from other areas," added James.
"There were very high standards reported by all the adjudicators, with some outstanding performances noted, and all events were hotly contested across the board.
"This type and size of competition does take a lot of effort and resources to plan, organise and run. Lochaber Piping Society members and friends, working as a team, do manage to put on events that we are genuinely proud of."
