1 Sea walls – The Highland Council had inspected them recently and concluded there was no serious damage.
10 years ago they said they would repair them.
2 Lochalsh Leisure Centre – This had been closed since a fire on January 12. Insurance money was awaited and this would be used to complete rewiring of the building. £40,000 per year is required to make the building safe and usable for approximately another five years. The CC agreed to write to the Lochalsh collaboration, suggesting that the three local trusts put a plan together to assist in getting this absolutely vital community asset reopened and functioning again.
3 Tourist Place Plan – It is hoped to have this ready by the end of April.
4 Safety measures at Plockton Station railway bridge – Due to the primary school moving to the high school there are now 16 children from Burnside crossing the bridge, safety measures have been promised for many years.
5 Rubbish bins – Concern was expressed regarding the proposals for next year for more domestic rubbish bins in addition to the two per household at present.
6 Parking on pavement – An elderly resident had been fined for having his car on the large pavement beside the hall. This was made for parking when the hall was built as there was no other parking and has been used ever since with no problems. The car owner now has to park in front of his house at the road junction. Plockton Hall committee will also pursue this.
