Oban Ravens squash team soared to new heights by raising £1,809 for Diabetes UK at its annual bingo fundraising evening.
Held at the Argyllshire Gathering Halls, the event was organised by team members Laura Mackay and Carrie Craik.
Diabetes UK representative Fiona Stewart attended the event and opened the fundraiser with a short speech about how the charity will use the funds raised. Both Laura and Carrie have sons with type one diabetes, for which there is currently no cure.
The event raised an incredible amount of money, beating the figure from 2023.
Laura said: "Thank you to everyone who bought a raffle ticket and came along on the night to make it our biggest event yet."
From the £4,309 raised on the night, a donation of £1809 has been given to Diabetes UK with an additional £500 of match funding being donated by the Bank of Scotland.
The top bingo cash prize of £200 was kindly donated by Boyds Plumbers and Kenny Ferguson Electrical.
Laura added: "Thank you also to everyone who donated raffle prizes, from individuals to businesses and to all our supporters and followers.
"We have had amazing support from Lidl Oban and many more local businesses.
"We are more than just a squash team. We are there for the community with everyone pulling together for a great cause."
Oban Ravens are in action again on May 5 at the Women in Scotland Playing Squash tournament at Hamilton Squash and Racketball Club.
