A group of ladies - known as the Women in Black - are holding monthly vigils in Brodick to show their opposition to all forms of violence.
The group meet at the Arran Coastal Way starting point on the last Saturday of every month to show their opposition to political and economic decisions that promote aggression, conflict and destroy human lives.
The worldwide movement involves women, normally wearing black clothing, standing in public places in silent, non-violent vigils, carrying placards and handing out leaflets.
On Arran, a small contingent of supporters aged from 16 to 96 years, gathered on Saturday to add their voices to the hundreds of other groups doing the same thing across the globe.
Women in Black began in 1988 with Israeli and Palestinian women standing in vigil together in Jerusalem to call for an end to the Israeli occupation of Palestine.
The Arran group has been meeting for nearly three years to show its support for the cause.
Women in Black has no constitution or manifesto and its exact number of members is unknown. There are Women in Black groups in 19 countries.
