A Loch Lomond singer-songwriter with a growing reputation on Scotland’s live circuit is set to perform in Carradale next month.
Folk-pop artist Liv Dawn will bring her band to Carradale Village Hall on Saturday March 7, for an evening concert organised by community music group Kilbrannan Sound CIC. Doors open at 7pm, with the event running as a bring-your-own-bottle night.
Originally from the Loch Lomond area, Liv has built a following through a mix of intimate songwriting and full-band performances blending folk, pop and country influences.
Drawing inspiration from landscapes and everyday experiences, her songs focus on themes of connection, relationships and personal journeys.
She has appeared at several well-known Scottish venues, including the Barrowland Ballroom, Saint Luke’s and King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut, and she was a finalist in the BBC Radio Scotland Singer-Songwriter of the Year Award.
Her recent years have included festival appearances at the Edinburgh Fringe, Skye Live and Belladrum, alongside touring across Scotland and parts of England.
A debut EP, Beautiful Daydream, released in 2023, was followed by further recordings and a full-band tour.
Her most recent EP, Hopeful Wandering, released last year, continues to explore themes of love, resilience and everyday moments, and has received coverage from radio stations and music publications.
“Liv is a top quality performer and it’s wonderful to have her play here on our doorstep,” said a Kilbrannan Sound spokesperson. “It will be a special night out.”
The community interest company has hosted a series of small-scale live music events in recent years, aiming to bring touring artists to rural venues and support access to live music locally.
Organisers say the Carradale concert forms part of their ongoing programme to attract established and emerging performers to the area.
Tickets for the concert are available online at www.ticketsource.co.uk/kilbrannan-sound/the-liv-dawn-band/e-rbdjar, with more information on the Kilbrannan Sound Facebook page. Early booking is advised as capacity at the hall is limited.
