First Minister John Swinney was in Oban today on the SNP campaign trail, as he helped local candidate and incumbent MSP Jenni Minto drum up support.
A large group of SNP activists gathered in George Street as the First Minister and Minto spoke to the crowds.
The pair also visited SAMS in Dunbeg, and took a stroll around the town on what turned out to be a sunny morning.
While in Oban on what is his 62nd birthday, Swinney spoke to the press about the need for a second independence referendum, and the need for an SNP majority to achieve that.
After five years in power, Ms Minto is currently leading the polls to be re-elected as Argyll and Bute’s MSP once again. Polls contrast for her opponents, but all place the SNP in the lead as things stand.
