A gathering in Oban to give people a say on how to promote and celebrate Gaelic in Argyll has been hailed a success.
Argyll and Bute Council said the event on Saturday at the Corran Halls went very well.
There were several key speakers on the day. Argyll and Bute Council Provost Dougie Philand gave the welcome, while Cabinet Secretary for Education and Skills Jenny Gilruth MSP gave a speech.
Bòrd na Gàidhlig chief executive Ealsaid Macdonald was also there and Àdhamh O’ Broin from CHARTs and Fèisean nan Gàidheal’s Abi Reid were part of the event’s schedule as were a number of breakout sessions for networking and idea sharing.
Oban Mòd ambassador and BBC Alba presenter Peter MacQueen facilitated a session on Argyll Gaelic dialects and there was a conversation with Islay artist Heather Dewar. The day ended with a presentation from the Mòd Local Organising Committee.
Dates for The Royal National Mòd 2024 coming to Oban are October 11-19.
