People from this area, including Ben Sunderland, Neil McInroy, Jakki Spicer and Jane Churchill from The Resource Collective, Lynda Mitchell from ALIenergy and Lorne Macleod, who have been involved in the discussion so far will also share their thoughts.
There will also be ample time with round table discussion for everyone to have their say and feed into the collective thinking.
"Oban is a windy place, and there are available sites and a few developments are happening or being planned. It is crucial the community have a broader understanding, are genuinely part of the conversation, and can potentially play a deeper role in ensuring wind energy is truly benefitting all people, communities and business," said an event spokesperson.
Community energy expert and shared ownership manager from Local Energy Scotland, Mark Brennan will be at the meeting to explain how communities can benefit from wind energy developments.
Lessons from other locations in Scotland, and support to communities through the Scottish Government’s Community and Renewable Energy Scheme (CARES) will also be explained.
During the event, Mark will cover what could be the next steps for Oban in terms of shared ownership possibilities.
