Golfer dad James Strang is hitting the FAIRways to raised funds and awareness for an Oban-based charity.
Dad-of-two James from Connel is teaming up with his pal Richard Blair from Islay to get round seven golf courses on Arran in less than 24 hours.
Money raised from the challenge will help FAIR - the charity James helped set up to make sure children and young people aged up to 18 with additional support needs get equal opportunities - buy portable soft play equipment and sensory kit.
"I’m what you could call a part-time golfer, if that," said James, who is also chairman of FAIR which stands for Fairness, Acceptance, Inclusion and Respect.
"I play the odd round but it was my friend Richard, who is originally from Oban, who came up with the idea. I’m always up for a challenge so couldn’t say no."
The challenge is set for June and the pair plan to take their first swing at the ball at about 5.30am and finish by 10.30pm - if not sooner.
James’ brother Allan has offered to be their runner and driver.
"We want to raise funds and awareness for the work we are doing in our area to make sure children and young people [with additional support needs] get the same opportunities and chances as others their age. Any support would be appreciated," said James, whose seven-year-old son Finley was diagnosed autistic and is pre-verbal, meaning "he has a few words", said James.
And James added: "There’s a lack of funding in place for this kind of cause from the government, so we have to do these things ourselves, we have no other choice. We do have some funding but that’s ringfenced for other projects. The idea of getting our own soft play and sensory kit is that we can take it to different venues for our children to enjoy."
Among the courses the sporting duo will be playing on are Brodrick, Lamlash, Lochranza and Machrie Bay.
They are aiming to bring in £2,000 and will also be organising a raffle that will include Bob MacIntyre memorabilia.
Sponsorship forms will soon be in various shops, services and pubs around town, or you can message James on Facebook.
