Lamlash opened their season with a home win against Brodick in the round robin stage of the Arran Haulage Cup.
Playing on their home turf at Lamlash, the team opened the scoring early on when a free kick took a cruel deflection off Babbies MacNeil resulting in an own goal for the Brodick man.
Brodick responded 10 minutes later when Stuart Logan opened his goal scoring account for the season.
The score remained 1-1 at half time.
The game remained tight in the second half with great battles across the pitch but Grant Adamson got the home team back in front in the 60th minute.
Youngster Charlie Ross extended the lead later to book Lamlash’s place in the cup final.
Referee Greg McCrae selected Lamlash captain Sean Higgins as man of the match after a solid performance in his new centre back position.
The remaining fixture in the Arran Haulage Cup will be played this Friday. The round robin game is a dead rubber with Lamlash and Southend already having booked their place in the final.
However, it will be a good chance for both teams to try players out and neither team will want to go into the final on the back of a loss.
The fixture between Southend and Lamlash will be played at Sandbraes Park on Friday. Kick-off 6.30pm.
