Caberfeidh 0 Kinlochshiel 0
The clash between Kinlochshiel and Caberfeidh was reversed to Castle Leod when Rèaraig was ruled unplayable.
There were few chances in the game although Kinlochshiel enjoyed most of the possession but neither side could break the deadlock and had to settle for a share the points.
Kinlochshiel manager Willie MacRae said: "We had plenty of chances but just didn’t test their keeper enough.
"Our defence was strong; the centre line did well but we’re just not hitting the target enough.
"Conor Cormack had a great game at the back, Ollie MacRae occupied Blair Morrison well and their keeper Kevin Bartlett made a smart save from Kieran Martin near the end."
Kinlochshiel have a rearranged league fixture against Oban Camanachd at Taynuilt this weekend whilst Caberfeidh host Fort William in the WM Donald MacTavish Cup quarter-finals.
Lochaber 1 Oban Camanachd 3
Oban Camanachd played some of their best shinty of the season as they beat Lochaber at Spean Bridge on Saturday.
Lochaber were forced into a defensive reshuffle with Max Campbell and Jack Dignan both suspended. Fin MacDonald and Kevin Ferguson were out injured as was keeper Callum MacDonald.
The hosts got off to a great start, winning the centre and two subsequent challenges before Stuart Callison hammered the ball into the roof of the net.
The visitors drew level on eight minutes. Daniel Maccuish saw a strike at goal saved but Connor Howe volleyed the rebound home from six yards out.
Two goals in two minutes put the Oban side in control. On 37 minutes Daniel Maccuish went one-on-one with the keeper before scoring and a couple of minutes after Daniel MacVicar sent a long-range effort goalwards and the ball deflected into the net off the keeper’s stick.
Oban Camanachd played more of the same in the second half and Daniel Maccuish, Lewis Cameron and Lorne Dickie all had efforts whilst Lochaber were never out of it either but there was no further scoring.
Lochaber boss Ally Ferguson said: "Despite the absence of some senior players through injury and suspension and debut first team starts for Ross Loughry, Darris Riddle and 17-year-old goalkeeper Joey Mackay, we started off very brightly.
"The disappointing part for us came just before half-time where we gave away two poor goals in as many minutes.
"It was 0-0 in the second half despite us being against a strong wind, which showed our great character and more good defending by the team.
"Our midfield gave a very good account of themselves and we still pressed until the end of the match when we were arguably the better side during the last 20 minutes and if we’d managed to get one goal back there may have been a different outcome.
"Shaun Nicholson took a sore one on the knee which may leave him out for a bit, but we’ll monitor his recovery.
"Great credit goes to the young players who came in at the weekend and they all did very well.
"Our next match is at Skye a week on Saturday when Max Campbell and Jack Dignan will return after suspension. We’ll see where we are with Fin MacDonald and Kevin Ferguson as both are out with injury and we’ll check on Shaun Nicolson too."
Kingussie 5 Fort William 1
Kingussie go second in the league after two late goals completed a 5-1 win over Fort William at The Dell.
James Falconer remained out injured for the Kings, but Savio Genini was back and took a place on the bench. Hamish Shaw and Ali MacRae returned to the Fort William starting line-up, but Victor Smith remained out with a hamstring problem.
Roddy Young got the opener on 14 minutes when he got by Arran Stephen before finishing low into the net from the edge of the D.
Calum McLay scored his first goal in Kingussie colours just five minutes after, turning home a rebound after Paul MacKay had saved from Thomas Borthwick.
Alexander MacMillan pulled a goal back on 24 minutes, turning the ball low by keeper Rory McGregor from inside the D.
The Fort went on to enjoy their best period in the game but were dealt a hammer blow a minute before the break when Dylan Borthwick found space on the right to turn home Roddy Young’s pass.
Kingussie put gloss on the win late in the match when Ruaridh Anderson took a Roddy Young pass and scored.
The impressive Young finished it in the final minute from a Savio Genini cross.
Speaking straight after the final whistle Fort William manager Scott McNeil said: "I thought it was a very good game to watch and both teams played a high standard of shinty.
"I know the final score was 5-1 and Kingussie took their chances but at 2-1 we had all the game but just couldn’t get the ball in the net.
"We learned a lot about the players in the match and that’s something that will be very beneficial to us in the forthcoming games."
Both sides are in WM Donald MacTavish Cup quarter-final action on Saturday; Kingussie at Skye and Fort William at Caberfeidh.
