The recent break-ins in Lochaber are part of a wider spate spanning across the Highands, police have said.
Police are now appealing for help from the public to investigate the spate, which began around Christmas.
Between December 2025 and mid-January 2026, incidents have been reported in Fort Augustus, Drumnadrochit, Letter Finlay, Banavie and Kingussie.
In response to the crime wave, police have advised people to be extra vigilant when locking their doors and windows at night, and have suggest installing security measures like cameras and alarms.
Locally, the crime wave saw thieves target two adjoining properties on the A82 at Letterfinlay, North of Spean Bridge, between Saturday January 3 and Friday January 9 2026.
A three-figure sum of cash was stolen.
The second break-in happened in the dead of night, around 2.10am on Tuesday January 13 2026 at a property in Banavie, Fort William.
A quantity of items, including jewellery, were taken in the incident.
In Fort Augustus, a number of properties in the Station Road, Arcdachy Road and North Canal Side areas were broken into which happened between late December and Wednesday January 7.
A quantity of alcohol was reported stolen from one property, with enquiries ongoing to establish whether anything was taken from others. Two men were seen acting suspiciously in the area on Monday 5 January and are believed to be linked to the incidents.
Another housebreaking at a property on Newtonmore Road, Kingussie was reported to police on Thursday January 9.
A final break-in was also reported at a property on Kilmore Road in Drumnadrochit which is believed to have happened between Saturday January 10 and Tuesday January 13.
Extensive enquiries are ongoing to establish if there is a link between these incidents and all possibilities are being considered at this stage.
Detective Sergeant Laura Mackay said: "Our enquiries into these incidents are ongoing and we would ask anyone who may have noticed anything suspicious in these areas to come forward.
"Anyone with private CCTV, doorbell or dash-cam footage from the relevant dates and locations is encouraged to review it and contact police if they believe it may assist our enquiries.
"I would like to remind residents to be vigilant and mindful of home security. Keep all windows and doors locked and consider installing doorbell cameras, security cameras and alarms.
"Additional security advice is available on the Police Scotland website, and we’d urge the community to report suspicious activity to the police as soon as possible."
