A glamorous new boutique opened its doors in Oban last month, offering high-quality pre-loved fashion with a luxury twist and is celebrating Second Hand September.
Time & Again Boutique, at 4 MacGregor Court opposite The Royal Hotel, is the latest venture by well-known local businesswoman Jackie Kerr, owner of the popular Button Nose Gift Boutique.
Did you know, each year, up to 40% of all clothing manufactured globally is never sold? In a world of overproduction and overconsumption, Second Hand September is all about challenging yourself to create more sustainable shopping habits for a fairer future – without compromising on style.
The production of clothes uses so much of our planet’s precious resources, when millions of people around the world don’t have access to the basics like clean water.
But here’s the good news: small habits from all of us stack up and can make real change.
Every time you choose second hand, whether that’s buying a vintage tee or donating what you don’t wear any more you’re making a statement. You’re dressing for the world you want.
Jackie said:
“The people of Oban have always supported me in Button Nose Gift Boutique, and I wanted to do something special in return to thank them. Time & Again Boutique is about giving designer and quality fashion a new life while offering customers a five-star experience. Celebrating Second Hand September feels perfect, it’s exactly what this shop is all about.”
Inside Time & Again, customers will find carefully curated designer labels, elegant occasionwear, handbags, shoes, and even hats and fascinators for weddings and race days. Most items are unworn or worn only once, and Jackie is considering adding bridal wear if the right pieces are offered.
The boutique operates on a clothing agency model, selling high-quality garments on behalf of local customers and visitors. Due to strong early demand, Jackie has temporarily paused taking new stock and is asking potential sellers to send photos via Facebook first.

Jackie added:
“We’re not selling fast fashion. These are special pieces that last. By buying here, customers aren’t just finding something beautiful and affordable – they’re also making a sustainable choice. That’s exactly the spirit of Second Hand September.”
Jackie thanked the many local businesses and people who helped bring Time & Again to life, including Hamish Hoey & Son, Kenny Ferguson Electricals, Carpet Services, Steven Butler Painting & Decorating, Print Mhor and BID4Oban, along with her team Shona Neil, Fran Melville, Janis Hamill, Anne Farquharson, and Corrina Mack.
Before moving to Oban a decade ago, Jackie ran a specialist teddy bear shop in Helensburgh and was a training manager for the Automobile Association. She says customer care will be central to Time & Again:
“When people walk in, they’re blown away by the décor. They feel like they’ve arrived somewhere special and that’s exactly what I wanted to create.”
