Members of Arran University of the Third Age (U3A) walking group took advantage of the spring sunshine last weekend.
The group made their way up Clauchlands Hill, taking in the views towards the northern hill on one side and Lamlash Bay on the other, with plenty of companionable chat in evidence.
The group meet twice a month, once on a Wednesday for a two to three hour ramble, and once at the weekend for a longer hike.
The group, which has a calendar of planned walks throughout the year, is open to new members. Anyone no longer in full time work is welcome to join.
The next hike, on Saturday March 28, will tackle Beinn a’ Chliabhain, while Wednesday April 15 will see members gather for a shorter walk to Lochranza’s Fairy Dell.
The full calendar of walks can be viewed on the U3A website at: isle-of-arran.u3asite.uk/u3a_groups/walking-for-pleasure. Group leader, Ian Mathieson, can be contacted from the same page.
