They were lined up outside Corrie primary school when piper Malcolm Wheeler played as Mrs Todd led her class out of school for the very last time to cheers from those gathered, socially distanced, outside the school gates.
She was presented with a gifts by the parent council as well as by her colleagues at the school and thanked everyone for, what she said, was a day to remember.
'I love the bagpipes,' she beamed.
