The Ormidale Pavilion was a hive of activity last Saturday at the Arran Arts Day.
For some time, Arran Theatre and Arts Trust (ATAT) has wanted to seek the views of the Arran community as to how it sees the future of the arts on the island and how ATAT could help realise that.
As a result they organised a day to celebrate the diversity and quality of arts activity on Arran and allow the community the chance to find out more about what is going on, as well as enjoying good live music and coffee and cake.
And the public came in their droves to see variety of island arts and crafts on display and chat with those involved, alongside a rolling programme of musical entertainment including an outdoor puppet show and the chance to meet ATAT’s arts co-ordinator Eoghann McColl.
Those who took part were: Arran Visual Arts, Whiting Bay Stitchers, Arran Quilters, Arran Arts Heritage Trail, Wee Mac Book Festival, McLellan Arts Festival, Boathouse Ceilidh Band, Fèis Arain, Arran Fiddlers, Gillian Frame, Findlay Napier, Rosie McNamara of Arran Music School, Arran Allsorts (Alice Maxwell’s children’s choir), Arran Open Studios, Arran Drama Association, Arran Events, Music Arran, Arran Rock and Blues Festival, and Spin Off (Arran Spinners).
