At 1.30pm on Sunday January 28 at Ross Crescent, Lochgilphead, police were called to a report of a male allegedly acting aggressively outside of a household, shouting threats to the occupants and damaging a car at the location. Following enquiries at scene a 27-year-old man, was arrested and charged. He was subsequently released on an undertaking to appear before court at a later date.
At 2am on Saturday January 27 police were called to a report of a car on its side at Port Charlotte, Islay, with no driver present. Following extensive searches involving coastguard, the 54-year-old male driver was located in Portnahaven, where he was allegedly intoxicated. The man was arrested and charged with failing an alcohol breath test and careless driving and was released on Undertaking.
