Council planners have made a decision on a move to build five new homes on land south of Taynuilt Railway Station.
Rochead and Irvine Construction Ltd submitted the proposal to Argyll and Bute Council for the accommodation units, which will also include detached garages.
The authority has previously granted planning permission in principle for the site on several occasions, the most recent being in November 2023.
No representations, expressing support or objection, were received by the council from the public during the application process - prompting them to give the green light.
The current application was for the detailed development of the site proposing five identical, contemporary designed, one and half storey, pitched roof structures.
Finishing materials will include rendered walls with some horizontal composite cladding and a concrete roof tile, UPVC windows and composite doors.
Each home will have decking at the back, coming out of patio doors in the dining room.
A council planning officer said in the handling report: “The detailed siting, design and finishes of the proposed dwellinghouses and garages proposed in the current application are considered to be appropriate design solutions for this site, with sufficient spacing between each plot and the existing residential properties to the south to ensure that the proposed development integrates well within the site and wider landscape.”
The application also proposed to use the existing access point spurring from the B845 public road. The council’s roads authority raised no objection to the proposed development subject to a number of conditions being imposed.
Plans to convert a barn at Lochawe to long-term letting accommodation have also been given the go-ahead by council officers.
Bebe Corbett’s proposal for the site at Castles Farm was backed by Argyll and Bute Council officials after it was deemed to raise no issues or concerns.
A condition restricting the occupation of the residential unit solely for long-term letting purposes only and for no other use will be imposed.
