Lochgilphead is to lose its Bank of Scotland branch on June 22 this year.
The branch is understood to be one of 95 that will be closed by the Lloyds Banking Group, including 10 other branches of the Bank of Scotland, 31 Halifax branches and 53 Lloyds across the country, between May this year and March 2027.
The latest announcement from the banking group, made on Wednesday February 12, is on top of the 49 other branches being closed by October this year.
Lochgilphead has already seen its branch of Virgin Money (previously the Clydesdale bank) close in 2023 and its TSB, while Tarbert saw its Bank of Scotland close in April 2024.
Inveraray’s only bank branch, the Royal Bank of Scotland closed in 2018.
Campbeltown’s Bank of Scotland closed in November 2024 and it has also lost its Royal Bank of Scotland and TSB branches.
A spokesperson for Lloyds said: "Customers want the freedom to bank in the way that works for them and we offer more choice and ways to manage money than ever before. More than 21 million customers use Lloyds’ apps as their main way to bank," the spokesperson added.
