Travel on Mull is about to get much easier after West Coast Motors announced enhancements to its services on the island.
The updates, which come into effect tomorrow, Friday March 28, are designed to improve travel options for both residents and visitors during the upcoming spring and summer seasons.
Services in the Ross of Mull (96/496) and the north (95/495) will see increased frequency and the return of buses on a Sunday.
Changes to the Lochbuie Crossroads/Craignure – Tobermory routes (95/495) will see services align with the operation of a second ferry vessel, meaning a bus should meet every ferry of the day.
Four services will run in both directions on a Sunday.
On the Craignure – Fionnphort routes (96/496) there will be increased service frequency from two to four buses a day towards Craignure and from two to three buses a day towards Fionnphort, to better accommodate the summer ferry timetable.
Two buses will run in both directions on a Sunday. An extra bus will run in the early hours of Monday morning during the school term.
Certain days will have additional services introduced to meet expected increased demand.
John Murray, area manager at West Coast Motors, said: “We look forward to offering improved and more frequent services to meet the needs of our community during the summer season.”
Services are subject to change with the CalMac ferry timetable.
The summer timetable will operate until 19 October, ensuring enhanced connectivity throughout the peak tourist season.
