After positive signs Bob MacIntyre’s game was trending in the right direction, his missed cut at the Texas Children’s Open in Houston was a real disappointment.
Back to back rounds of 74 left him +8 for his opening two rounds which saw him finish well outside the cut line, yet his opening 12 holes on Thursday gave no hint of what was to come.
With two thirds of his round complete, the Oban star was sitting at -1, comfortably within touching distance of the leaders.
Unfortunately he played the final six holes in +5 including four consecutive bogeys.
His Friday round never got going and it’s probably fair to say the left-hander won’t want to see the back nine in Houston for a while having played in a combined total of +7.
After his disappointment in Houston, Bob has now opted out of the upcoming Valero Open in San Antonia, which means he will also miss out on another Masters appearance the following week.
