🦭 Day 2: Castles, Woodland Trails & Wildlife

Dunstaffnage Castle & Chapel (10 mins from Oban)

• Dramatic 13th-century castle ruin by the sea.

Afternoon

Tralee Bay or Barcaldine Forest Walk

🚢 Day 3: Island Adventure – Mull, Tobermory & Sea Life

Day Trip to Mull & Tobermory

• Catch the CalMac ferry to Craignure (Mull) – 50-minute scenic sailing.
  
  

• Drive or take a pre-booked tour to Tobermory (approx. 1 hr).
  
  

• Colourful harbour, shops, and the Mull Aquarium (interactive, kid-friendly).
  
  

• Have lunch at MacGochans or Cafe Fish (book ahead in high season).
  
  

Optional stop at Duart Castle on return journey (if driving).

Return to Oban by ferry early evening.

Evening

• Light dinner or snacks at accommodation after a big day.
  
  

Another option for this day is to take the Three Isles Tour with West Coast Motors from Oban, where you will visit Mull, Iona and Staffa - a great full-day trip seeing all the beautiful sights of this spectacular area of the Inner Hebrides.

🏴 Day 4: Indoor Fun, Local Tastes & Woodland Play

Morning

Atlantis Leisure Centre

• Great for a weather-proof morning.

• Pool with slides and floats, soft play, and climbing walls – perfect for younger children and rainy days.
  
  

Afternoon

Visit Dunollie Castle & Museum

• Walkable from Oban along the coast.

• Explore the ruins, dress up in Highland outfits, and enjoy the excellent Kettle Garden Café (perfect scones!).
  
  

• Playtime back at Atlantis Leisure’s Play Park -  swings, climbing, zip lines, and plenty of space.
  
  

Evening

Dinner at The Olive Garden or a local takeaway

Relax with a board game or card night back at your accommodation.

🌿 Day 5: Choose Your Own Adventure

Option 1: Easdale Island & the Bridge Over the Atlantic

• Drive 30 mins to Seil Island, then take the tiny ferry to Easdale – Scotland’s smallest inhabited island.

• Explore the slate quarries, tiny museum, and spot seals.

• Café & honesty shops offer local treats.
  
  

Option 2: Wildlife Boat Trip

• Join a short family-friendly sea safari from Oban or Easdale (e.g. Sealife Adventures).

• Spot seals, otters, eagles, puffins (in season), and more.
  
  

Option 3: Build-a-Beach-Day

• Return to Ganavan Sands, or visit Loch Creran, Tralee Bay, or Loch Etive.

• Pack a picnic, nets, and games – let the kids roam!
  
  

Evening
