Musicians in Acharacle are to benefit from a gift from well-known Gaelic singer and musician Donnie "Large" MacDonald.
Originally from the Isle of Lewis and now living in California, USA, Donnie has recently stepped back from bringing American parties over to tour Scotland after many years.
The decision left the popular musician with a surplus of instuments, two of which, an octave mandolin and tenor banjo, he has donated to Acharacle Gaelic music causes.
The two instruments were presented by Large to Acharacle businessman, Donald MacGilllvray (Shiel Buses) - who was delighted to accept them and to ensure their safe journey onward.
Local lady Margaret Jane MacKenzie Macdonald of Acharacle will have future guardianship of them.
Margaret puts a lot of her time, energy and life into local causes and is a great ambassador for the village.
"May they provide much enjoyment in the future," said Large.
