Developers of the Allt-na-Reigh cottage site in Glencoe have been given the green light to demolish the derelict eyesore once and for all.
Family run Glenshire Group bought the property in 2021 and were subsequently awarded planning permission to demolish the main house and erect another building in its place.
Last month a spokesperson for company director Harris Aslam told the Lochaber Times that they were as keen to see the building, formerly owned by paedophile Jimmy Savile, demolished as everyone else but were waiting on a building warrant and other necessary approvals to be finalised.
A Highland Council spokesperson has now confirmed: "As of February 24 2026 there is now a Building Warrant approved for demolition (26/00215/DOM4) and the applicant already has Planning Permission (23/05261/FUL).
"The agents have advised the Council that the site has been re-secured and a Building Warrant is now in place for the demolition works."

Councillor Andrew Baxter appealed to The Highland Council and the Developers to take action last month.
"I am relieved to hear that this long running saga seems to be coming to an end," he told us this week.
"Hopefully there will be no more delays and what has sadly become a blot on the Glencoe landscape will disappear."
Although developers declined to comment at length this week a spokesperson said: "I would expect works to be underway shortly."
Part of the plans include renovation and alterations to an outbuilding in recognition of the lasting and positive contribution made to Glencoe by the late Scottish mountaineer and inventor Hamish MacInnes who made Allt Na Reigh his home from 1959 to 1998.
