Tributes have been paid to "kind" and "selfless" mum Renee Shawcroft, who died last week after a courageous fight against cancer.
The 41-year-old, who lived in Kilmelford before moving to spend her final days with family in Birmingham, had been battling liver cancer.
Before Renee died, her friend April O’Donnell launched a Gofundme fundraising page towards "vital" and "urgent" treatment in Germany, so that she could be there for her three children.
But after it was found that even that treatment would not help Renee recover, the focus of the fundraising became supporting her three young children, James, Katherine, and Merry, and the cost of her own funeral.
Last week another friend, Carrie-Ann Simpson, announced: "We received the heartbreaking news that Ren passed away peacefully on 28th April.
"Ren was a very gracious woman, she was kind, selfless, and a wonderful friend to many. She put up a courageous fight to the very end.
"I’m taking this opportunity to share her fundraiser one last time to help support her three beautiful children and the family at this very difficult time."
In Renee’s final days, April had also praised this "wonderful, amazing and loving lady", who is "an inspiration to us all".
Renee was "very positive and upbeat" while her condition worsened, "continuing to push forward as best as she can", April said, showing "how much of an incredible soul she is.
"Ren is very grateful of the love and support from the people of Oban. As she did say: ’You should all be proud of yourselves.’
"Please, I ask that you all continue to support this cause for her children. Thank you to all who have donated, it really does mean a lot."
Renee’s Gofundme fundraising page, at gofund.me/99765b8b6, had raised over £12,500 by the start of this week.
