Arran Whisky Society hosted its inaugural Burns celebration in Kildonan Village Hall attended by more than 40 members and guests who enjoyed an evening of traditional music, recitations and poetry.
A supper of haggis, neeps, tatties, soup and cranachan was served whilst Angus Adamson and Carol Harwood provided traditional music on the pipes and fiddle. George Ferguson contributed to the entertainment by reciting two Burns’ poems set to music.
Peter Black, chairman of Arran Whisky Society said: “The society would like to thank all those who made the evening such a success and particularly those who made the evening possible by preparing the food and decorating the hall.”
Arran Whisky Society is a group of like-minded people who get together once a month to appreciate and sample all kinds of whisky and socialise. Visitors and locals are invited to join the group’s monthly get-togethers.
