Campbeltown Pharmacy has launched a festive partnership with Kintyre Food Bank, organising a Christmas raffle in a bid to raise vital funds for the charity as it faces increased demand this winter.
In line with its commitment to community support, Campbeltown Pharmacy has pledged to match every pound raised through the raffle with an equivalent donation, doubling the final contribution to the charity.
Pharmacist Idreece Khan said: “This festive initiative aims to raise essential funds to support our local food bank, particularly during these challenging times when their services are more crucial than ever.”
Raffle tickets are priced at £1 per strip and are available to purchase in-store from Campbeltown Pharmacy at Mafeking Place.
The draw will take place on Monday, December 11, giving people plenty of time to participate and contribute to the cause.
Thanks to the generosity of local businesses and individuals, there is an array of prizes up for grabs, including: Machrihanish Golf Club – voucher for a ‘four ball’; D McNair & Son – £50 fuel voucher; Campbeltown Picture House – tickets for two; Kintyre Food Bank – Christmas food hamper; Campbeltown Pharmacy – perfume; plus whisky, wine, chocolates, biscuits, and festive decorations.
The Christmas raffle is the latest in a series of fundraising events organised by the independent community pharmacy which opened in April.
Earlier this year, a similar raffle raised £520 for the charity Shopper-Aide, which supports Kintyre’s older population, with the pharmacy matching the £260 raised by the community.
The pharmacy team is encouraging as many people as possible to get behind the cause, with Mr Khan adding: “Together, we can make a significant impact and help provide for those in need during this festive season.
“Your support is more crucial than ever to help those most vulnerable in our community.”
