Competitors recorded some “incredible” winning times as they took part in the multi-terrain Ormsary 10km race.
A total of 52 runners were cheered on by supporters as they tackled a challenging course of hills, dirt roads and tarmac at Ormsary Estate on May 2.
Keith Mitchell claimed victory in the men’s race with an impressive time of 38 minutes and 35 seconds, while Ben Stanley was the first local runner home.
In the women’s race, Jennifer Campbell took first place, finishing in 49 minutes and 37 seconds.
Event organiser Kathryn McGeachy thanked the Lithgow family for hosting the event on their estate.
She said: “It’s a challenging route, but everyone completed it safely with big smiles at the finish line. The race started at the hall in Ormsary, and runners were faced with their first hill almost immediately.
“There was a great turnout of supporters cheering everyone on, and we saw some incredible winning times.”

Kathryn also extended special thanks to Anne and Mary for timekeeping, and to Lisa Reid for her assistance in organising the event.
Lady Lithgow attended the prize-giving ceremony, presenting medals to the top three finishers in each category.
Ewan Smith finished second in the men’s race, followed by Andy Law in third.
In the women’s category, Claire Thompson placed second, with Laura Thompson taking third.
After the race, participants gathered to enjoy food provided by Big T’s Snack Van.
The event was supported by sponsors including Hendrix Genetics, ICD Contracting Ltd, Midton Acrylics, Ferguson Butchers, Jura and Beinn An Tuirc Distilleries.
Ormsary Social Club plans to hold the event again next year.
