This year’s Mull of Kintyre Music Festival (MOKFest) is adding a new event to its line-up, with the launch of a children’s Mini Highland Games.
The new afternoon event will take place on Saturday August 23, from 2pm to 4pm at the Argyll Arms Hotel in Campbeltown, and will also feature a craft fair.
The mini Highland Games, run by children’s entertainer Funky Chicken Fun, will be held in the venue’s upstairs hall, featuring a tartan theme.
Youngsters can take part in various indoor games, including haggis rolling and Highland hoopla, as well as enjoying face painting.
At the same time, the hotel’s lounge area will host a craft fair with various stalls. There are still some spaces available for crafters who wish to book a stall. Email mokfest@hotmail.co.uk for more information, email.
Entry to the event is by donation at the door.
More information on all the Saturday afternoon events will be available in next week’s Courier.
The five-day MOKFest, which kicks off on Wednesday, has seven ticketed concerts, headlined by artists including Skerryvore, Karen Matheson Band, Arthur Cormack with Ingrid Henderson, TRIP, The Ali Buckets Ceilidh Band, Slainte Davaar Allstars, Wee Toon Tellers, Kintyre Schools Pipe Band, and Davie Robertson and Alex McAllister.
