Campbeltown Library is gearing up for a busy May, with a range of themed displays and activities for all ages – including a celebration of the 100th birthday of Sir David Attenborough.
The milestone falls today (Friday, May 8), with the library marking the occasion with a dedicated display honouring the much-loved broadcaster and environmentalist.
The month also marks Community and Local History Month, and the library has curated displays reflecting Campbeltown’s rich heritage.
Visitors can explore the library’s local collection, offering a glimpse into the area’s past, alongside a showcase of works by local authors.
In addition, Mental Health Awareness Week, from May 11-17, will be recognised with its own display, encouraging conversation and awareness around wellbeing.
Younger visitors are also in for some fun as Bookbug Week gets underway from May 18. This year’s theme is a ‘Big Pirate Quest’, and Campbeltown Library will be hosting pirate-themed Bookbug sessions on Tuesday May 18 and Thursday May 21 at 10.15am.
Library supervisor Tracey Muscroft said: “We are so looking forward to making pirate hats at the stay and play after the sessions.”
