Changes to a Tarbert café’s licence, which will see it able to open until 11pm all year round, have been backed by Argyll and Bute Council’s provost .
The Corranbuie Café, at Tarbert Caravan Park south of the village, applied to the area’s licensing board for permission to delete its seasonal variation.
It also requested to extend its on-sales closing time to 11pm, seven days a week, and to add recorded music and live performances as activities on its licence.
Councillor Douglas Philand (Independent, Mid Argyll) spoke in favour before the changes were unanimously granted by the Argyll and Bute licensing board on Tuesday, April 21.
Prior to the meeting, a report described the premises as “supplying food and drinks to the occupants of Tarbert Holiday Park, West Loch shore and also passing trade" with a "timber lodge-type unit with a deck and covered and uncovered seating areas outside”.
Councillor Philand said during the meeting: “This is a very positive move forward. It has become a very popular site for campers and vans, and locals as well.
“If the board are so minded, I would be happy to support this application.”
The councillors unanimously agreed to back the variations.
