Mid Argyll Arts Association is going to be welcoming the Scottish Dance Theatre’s latest production as part of their 40th anniversary season tour.
The performance will take place on March 20 in Ardrishaig Public Hall and will be a chance for some of those who have in past years offered hospitality by hosting dancers to share one more evening of performance.
This will be followed by a question-and-answer session and there will be an opportunity to meet the dancers afterwards and celebrate their 40th anniversary.
The anniversary tour presents Scottish Roots, a new triple bill celebrating the dialogue between tradition and innovation in Scottish culture.
O Chiadain an Lo is a duet choreographed by Joan Clevillé, with music by Skye-born piper Brìghde Chaimbeul.
It is a blend of Scottish folk music and dance inspired by ancient melodies from 18th century manuscripts.
A new work, Off-Season, by Edinburgh-based choreographer Tess Letham explores the space before the next thing happens - that moment of time that seems to stretch, contract and loop back on itself.
And the final piece, Moving Cloud, is an acclaimed production with dynamic and rhythmical choreography by Sofia Nappi and music by Glasgow-based folk band TRIP.
It is described as “a joyous and exhilarating meeting of contemporary dance and traditional music, showcasing choreography by internationally acclaimed choreographer Sofia Nappi, and an irresistible musical score of Scottish folk music".
The performance will start at 7pm in Ardrishaig Public Hall.
