Newtonmore 8
Col Glen 1
League leaders Newtonmore won for the sixth successive league match, beating Col Glen 8-1 at The Eilan.
More took the lead after just 3 minutes when Declan Brannan and Iain Robinson combined before Matthew Sloss sent a 25-yard, knee-high shot into the net.
Referee Robert Baxter awarded ‘More a penalty on 14 minutes which Iain Robinson thumped home.
Euan Dingwall volleyed into the net on 22 minutes, taking a Matthew Sloss pass, and 15-year-old James Coyle turned home a rebound on 42 minutes to make it 4-0 at the break.
James Coyle got his second on 56 minutes, tucking home another rebound, and Iain Robinson completed his hat-trick with efforts on 57 and 62 minutes to make it 7-0.
Cally McNaughton pulled a goal back for Col Glen on 65 minutes with a good strike into the corner of the net, but Iain Robinson made it 8-1 straight from the restart with his fourth goal of the afternoon.
After the match, a Col Glen spokesperson said: “A tough game today against a very strong and clinical Newtonmore.
“Despite the result, the Glen put together some good spells, playing tidy Shinty, and showed good fitness levels throughout. Cally McNaughton pulled a goal back in the 2nd half with a cracking strike.
“The Col Glen team were very grateful to Kizzie Burke (Kizzie Illustration) for sponsoring them today.
“Col-Glen’s man of the match was Auryn Kerr who is sponsored by MacVicar Butchers.”
Also great to see such a large travelling support today. Thanks to everyone who made the away journey to cheer the Glen boys on.
It’s cup action next for both sides as Newtonmore are off to Glenurquhart in the WM Donald MacTavish Cup quarter-finals whilst Col Glen welcome Bute in the Scottish Sea Farms Glasgow Celtic Society Cup first round.
Skye Camanachd P
Kyles Athletic P
A rain sodden pitch led to the postponement of Skye Camanachd’s meeting with Kyles Athletic at Pairc nan Laoch.
It was a strange day for Kyles Athletic manager Grant Profit.
He was originally due to miss the trip North as he attended a family event to cheer on hometown team Falkirk in the Scottish Cup semi-finals at Hampden Park.
However, a player shortage meant he was needed to take a starting place against Skye.
The postponement meant he was able to redirect his journey to Glasgow but the outcome there wasn’t what he’d hoped for as Dunfermline won through to the Scottish Cup Final following a 1-1 draw and a penalty shoot-out.
This weekend, Skye, without the suspended James Morrison, return to WM Donald MacTavish Cup action when they welcome holders Kingussie to Portree.
Kyles have a Scottish Sea Farms Glasgow Celtic Society Cup first round tie against Inveraray at The Winterton which Jamie Forgrieve will now miss through suspension.

Lovat 3
Inveraray 2
Lovat stay second after edging out Inveraray 3-2 in their 3pm throw up at Balgate.
This was Inveraray’s first game for a month and this, and the long journey north, seemed to contribute to a sluggish start.
Lovat took advantage and Graeme MacMillan gave them the lead on 23 minutes with a low shot on his left side from just outside the penalty spot.
Inveraray levelled with a goal of the season contender on 34 minutes when Fraser Watt crashed the ball high into the net on his left side from distance.
After some good play from Lewis Montgomery and an excellent pass, Fraser Watt got his 2nd goal in the 41st minute to put Inveraray up 2-1 up.
However, the visitors just couldn’t take their lead into the interval as with just 60 seconds of the first half remaining, Marc MacLachlan smashed the ball home following a free-hit on the right.
There was no further scoring until just 4 minutes from time when Marc MacLachlan scored his second goal of the match with a turn and shot from the right after Inveraray couldn’t clear Danny Kelly’s hit-in from the right.
After the match, a spokesperson for Inveraray, said: “The boys were disappointed with the end result due to how well from defence to the forward line they played like a team.
“But they should take credit for the way they played against a good Lovat team and were really unfortunate not to take at least a point from the game.”
Lovat have a derby clash with Beauly at Braeview Park in the WM Donald MacTavish Cup quarter-finals on Saturday whilst Inveraray welcome Kyles Athletic in the Scottish Sea Farms Glasgow Celtic Society Cup first round.

Dunadd 10
Glengarry 0
Dunadd are through to the next round after overcoming Glengarry 10-0 in their 1pm throw up at MacRae Park.
Dunadd hadn’t played since beating the same ‘Garry side 5-1 in the league on Sunday March 8, which was the opening day of the season.
The hosts flew out of the blocks with Eilidh Cameron scoring three times within the first 10 minutes of the tie.
The visitors tried to fight back but the prolific Cameron scored two more times to make it 5-0 the break.
Eilidh Cameron scored her sixth goal of the afternoon almost straight from the restart and Rosie MacDonald added two more before Cameron scored for the seventh time.
She also hit the frame of the goal on two occasions.
With Iona McCulloch prompting play in the centre of the field throughout, Tia Nicholson rounded off the scoring when she made it 10-0.
After the match, a Glengarry spokesperson said : “Special mention must go to Eilidh Cameron junior who hit the bar twice, and to Ellie Hetherington who had two seemingly unstoppable shots saved by the fine Glengarry goalie.
“Iona McCulloch in centre mid also had a phenomenal game and was unlucky herself not to get on the scoresheet.
“Great to score so many, but equally good to keep a clean sheet.
“Many thanks to referee Neil Nicolson, the home support and to Glengarry who fought hard to the end."
Next week, Dunadd get back to league action in an away game vs Aberdour.
