A flood warning directing residents to take immediate action has been issued for Tarbert, Lochgilphead and Lochgair.
Low-lying properties, parts of the A83 and Tarbert Harbour are expected to be overswept by waves from 2pm today (Tuesday). A combination of high tides and prevailing weather conditions means that flooding from the sea is expected to affect low-lying land, roads and buildings along the Loch Fyne coastline.
The alert, which was issued by SEPA on Monday December 8 at 7.16pm, also warned of possible localised flooding of the Lochgair and Lochgilphead coastal roads.
“Flooding impacts are expected around the time of high tide on Tuesday December 9 between 2pm and 4pm,” the flood warning added.
“Remain vigilant and remember, it is your responsibility to take actions which help protect yourself and your property. This flood warning is now in force until further notice.”
Advice and information is available on SEPA’s website or by calling Floodline on 0345 988 1188.
