Oban High School’s prizewinning Pipe Band is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a concert in the Corran Halls this month.
Led by Pipe Major Angus MacColl, Oban High School Pipe Band reached its pinnacle in 2010, winning the World Championships in the Novice Juvenile class, and being crowned Champions of Champions.
Morven McPhillips, Secretary of Oban & Lorn Youth Pipe Band Association, said: "Oban High School Pipe Band are now celebrating 20 years of being in existence under the fabulous tutoring and leadership of Pipe Major Angus MacColl, AJ MacColl, and Grant Cassidy, and supported at the beating heart by Nan Johnstone.
"All four have shown unwavering commitment to the band which has, along with winning many titles, nurtured a love of piping and drumming in our youngsters, who many go on to have a lifelong commitment to music.
"We start our celebrations for 20 years with our annual concert at the Corran Halls on Thursday 19 March, which has been sponsored by Dungallan House."
The concert starts at 7.30pm.
