Residents of Lochaber are preparing for an invasion of a different kind this weekend.
On Saturday May 9 the Nevis Centre will play host to the town’s first-ever BGCP Comic Con, courtesy of the Big Glasgow Comic Page (BGCP).
Running from 10am to 4pm this landmark event brings the vibrant world of geek culture to the Highlands, offering a massive family-friendly day out that traditionally requires a trip to the central belt.
The event features an expansive "Geek Market" with dozens of specialist traders selling everything from comics and graphic novels to action figures, Pokémon cards, LEGO, and rare collectables.
However, the main highlight for many will be the packed schedule of official meet and greets, where fans can take photos with some of the most iconic characters in pop culture.
The official character schedule includes:
10.30am - 11am: Stitch
11.30am - noon: Mario & Luigi
1pm-1.30pm: Transformers’ Bumblebee
2pm-2.30pm: Sonic & Knuckles
3pm-3.30pm: Spider-Man
A BGCP spokesperson said: "We are thrilled to bring the BGCP experience to Fort William for the first time.
"The Nevis Centre is a fantastic local hub, and we cant wait to see the community turn out in their best costumes to meet these heroes."
The event will feature a selection of free-to-play arcade machines, giant inflatable characters, and a collection of iconic movie props on display for that perfect photo opportunity.
Tickets available at www.bigglasgowcomicpage.com/. Children under 5 go free.
